What is new in DeskCamera 6.3
- Refreshed user interface. The whole app has a cleaner design, clearer messages and sharper icons. It also works better on small screens, with the keyboard and with screen readers.
- Every Remote Desktop screen. When you connect to the PC over Remote Desktop with more than one monitor, each screen gets its own media source: RDPDisplay, RDPDisplay2, RDPDisplay3 and so on. You can send every screen to your VMS or NVR, and each media source keeps its settings when you reconnect.
- Smarter App Window tracking. Many programs change their window title while they work, for example to show a file name or a status. With the new „Find by“ setting, an App Window media source finds its window by a part of the title that does not change, or by the program name. DeskCamera shows how many windows match before you save.
- License renewal with an app password. Administrators can now renew or replace a license without removing the app password. Run /ImportAct on its own while DeskCamera is closed.
This release also fixes several problems. The camera can now start while Windows is still connecting to the network. Viewer counts for Remote Desktop screens are now correct. App Window media sources find their windows more reliably when the PC starts. And the Watchdog recovers correctly after a cancelled or failed update.
DeskCamera turns a Windows PC into an ONVIF IP camera. It streams desktops, application windows, webcams and audio to your existing VMS or NVR over ONVIF or RTSP, with GPU-accelerated H.264 and H.265, silent mode, offline activation and local license server options.
FAQ
Can DeskCamera stream every monitor of a Remote Desktop session?
Yes. Each remote screen is a separate media source: RDPDisplay, RDPDisplay2 and so on. Add each one to your VMS or NVR as its own channel. See Use DeskCamera with Remote Desktop.
My program changes its window title. Will the App Window media source lose it?
Not if you use „Find by“. Choose a part of the title that does not change, or the program name. See Stream One Program Window (App Window).
Will my App Window media sources change after the upgrade?
No. They keep the „Automatic“ setting until you choose another option.
